According to the National Weather service, last year’s race took place in what was classified as a “historic nor’easter”.  Winds in Portsmouth that morning were recorded at 55 mph and rain was torrential, yet an impressive crowd of runners toed the line and an amazingly dedicated band of volunteers dawned slickers and stayed at their posts to pull of a race that can only be described as memorable.   We can safely say the weather will be much better on March 13, 2011!
